One in five youth meet criteria for a mental health disorder.

Less than 50% of youth who need mental health care receive it.

Despite advances in evidence-based interventions for youth, treatments are not always accessible and/or effective to youth experiencing mental health problems. This is particularly true for youth from minoritized backgrounds who are often at higher risk for mental health problems and less likely to receive care. The work conducted by the CARE Lab for Youth Mental Health Equity is guided by our shared belief that all children and families deserve to have access to high quality, evidence-based mental health care, regardless of sociodemographic and identity characteristics.
